Allison’s Kitchen

I don’t have a fancy kitchen. It is not necessary as long as you have some helpful tools to get your cookin’ on! Here are my must-have kitchen essentials.

Kitchen Tools

  • Food processor (LOVE)
  • Omega 8006 Juicer (LOVE x 2)
  • Hand held immersion blender  (Easy mayo maker!)
  • Blender, preferably with a glass container  (Mine is not fancy- wish it was a Vitamix, but it’s an Osterizer and it gets the job done just the same!)
  • Wooden spoons
  • Wooden meat pounder (Handy for pressing down sauerkraut, tamping espresso- you know, all the usual things….)
  • Sharp knives and cutting boards
  • Non-teflon steel pans: large stock pot, small/medium saucepans and large/small frying pan
  • Glass jars for storage, making kombucha and sauerkraut or sprouting
  • Steamer basket (for veggies)
  • Wire mesh strainer
  • Water Filtration Pitcher or System, this one, by Aquasana looks good but it’s still on my list
  • Food dehydrator (Ok, I can live without this, but sometimes it’s fun to play with….)
  • Pour over coffee filter, french press or stovetop espresso maker

Pantry Items

  • Plenty of sea salt and black pepper, cinnamon, cayenne, turmeric, cumin
  • Organic coconut oil (cooking, hair and skin care)
  • Avocado oil, extra virgin olive oil (salads and mayonnaise)
  • Butter, beef tallow, duck or chicken fat (cooking)
  • Raw sunflower seeds, flax seeds, chia seeds, cashews, walnuts
  • Almond butter, sunflower seed butter
  • Sprouting seed mix like alfalfa, clover, etc.
  • Lara Bars (sometimes you just need something quick to throw in your bag….)
  • Coconut milk (the kind in a can or box used for Thai food, without preservatives and other crap)
  • Raw honey
  • Organic coffee
  • Black, green and herbal teas
